Summit Doppler
Fast, reimbursable diagnosis of Peripheral Arterial Disease. Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), a type of Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), is a common condition that affects 8-12 milion people in the US every year. It is characterized by narrowing of the arteries in the legs caused by plaque build-up, which leads to claudication of the arteries. The disease process is often referred to as Atherosclerosis.
How do you test for PAD? The most common test to diagnose PAD is the Ankle Brachial Indes (ABI) examination. The ABI is a simple non-invasive test performed with a Doppler and blood pressure cuffs. The test measures the systolic presssures at the lower and upper extremities. |
